Kylie Minogue – Aphrodite (2010)
I would never believe you some years ago if you’d told me than now I’m listening to Kylie Minogue’s songs and actually enjoying to do it.
The pretty (and little!) Kylie Minogue is back with the amazing album “Aphrodite”, which was created after the usual and long-standing “fight” between most famous Djs and productors to work on it. This happened also for Kylie’s latest album “X”, and as for the new one, Calvin Harris was chosen.
If we look to the background of this album, we can easily understand that Kylie Minogue is the female artist who deals the best with sounds and fashions, even better than Madonna. She manages to interpret in her own way songs written by other people with her typical sensual voice.
I wasn’t able to find any weakness in this album, even after listening again and again to it, because it deals with all kind of pop, dance, house, and never gets boring. Kylie and the productors did a very good job because each sound is kind of a surprise to the one who listens to it.
The already much beloved “All the lovers” which was just released is only a foretaste of what is yet to come… Indeed, the second song of this album will be amazing. “Get outta my way” is seen as the future best song of the year. Its refrain is impossible to forget, as Kylie’s “nanananana” or Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”
Another great song of this album is “Closer” which sounds like a Rondò Veneziano song feat. Tiga.
“Aphrodite”, which has the same name as the album, is a great pop example, which sounds like MJ when Kylie mades voice’s effects, mostly at the end of the track.
So, this should be the Kylie Minogue’s best album ever. People who love Pop/Dance Music will love it. By the way, I don’t advice people who cannot stand guitar-free sounds and only love sad songs to buy it.
